Tabitha DeAnda
Marriage and Family Therapy Practicum Student

Tabitha was born in the Bay Area and graduated from San José State University with a degree in Child and Adolescent Development. She worked primarily as an elementary school teacher and Learning Center Director, supporting children with specialized learning needs. She recently moved to Reno for a slower pace of life and to be closer to Lake Tahoe, where she enjoys spending time outdoors. Tabitha is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at National University.

Her background in education has shaped her appreciation for emotional development and the relationships that influence people throughout their lives. Tabitha is drawn to Emotionally Focused Therapy and its emphasis on attachment and emotional connection. She helps patients explore how past experiences and relationship patterns influence their present emotions and responses. Her goal is to create a supportive space where patients feel heard, better understand themselves, and build stronger connections with others.

How I Stay Healthy: Working out daily is a big part of how I care for my physical and mental health. I enjoy running and finding new challenges, including fitness events and marathons. I also love spending time with my husband and dog and getting outdoors.
