Marriage and Family Therapy Practicum Student
CJ was born and raised in Sparks, was stationed in Hawaii during his time in the United States Marine Corps, and became a police officer with an agency near Dallas, Texas, after his time in the Marines. He returned to Sparks with his wife and children a few years ago, continuing his law enforcement career with a local agency. CJ earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Capella University.
Through his prior careers, CJ has established experience working with individuals from all walks of life. He has experience managing crises and relational conflict while maintaining an unbiased perspective. CJ often uses Narrative Therapy techniques to explore the stories of individuals’ lives, while drawing from other modalities to match client needs. CJ also utilizes ACT concepts and methods in his practice to help individuals explore psychological flexibility in this ever-changing world. CJ’s goal is to help individuals rediscover their strengths and resiliency while navigating and balancing their lives.
How I Stay Healthy: In my free time, I spend time with my family, spend time with God, read, and play golf and piano. I enjoy exercising, hunting, and anything music-related.
