Lizeth Casillas-Garcia
Clinical Social Worker Intern

Lizeth is a Nevada native and a dedicated social worker with a deep connection to this community. She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Social Work from the University of Nevada, Reno (Go Pack!), and has since built a career grounded in compassion, advocacy, and clinical care.

Her background includes extensive hands-on experience in the medical field, beginning as a Certified Nursing Assistant and growing into her role as a Licensed Master Social Worker, working in both adult guardianship and hospice social work. It was in these roles that she discovered a passion for supporting individuals with chronic illness and life transitions, as well as mental challenges. She has had the privilege of supporting adults through end-of-life care and working with children facing complex medical conditions providing both emotional support and practical resources for families during some of their most challenging times.

In addition to her medical experience, she has worked in an acute psychiatric hospital setting, where she gained valuable insight into crisis intervention, stabilization, and the complex needs of individuals experiencing severe mental health challenges. She enjoys working with both adolescents and adults, creating a supportive space where patients can explore their experiences and learn tools to navigate life’s difficulties. Liz is especially passionate about helping adolescents build emotional insight and resilience, while also working with families to strengthen communication and connection within the home.

As a bilingual clinician (English and Spanish), she strives to provide culturally responsive care and make therapy accessible to a wider range of individuals and families in our community.
